We try to work 1 year ahead of schedule. It keeps us sane. We are now playtesting 4 new games. Here's some results from the 4 games so far.
New RPG: THis is working swimmingly. The mechanics are light and play into the story creation. The characters are the richest we've had in our game sessions, and the whole concept of the world just works. Now we need to decide if this is going to be a standalone RPG with supplements, or a series of mini-RPGs in the same world. Both has its advantages. New Card Game 1: This totally bombed on the first playtest. Part of the game is a unique method of deck-creation. That part took way to long to do and tainted the rest of the game play. The good news, is, the actual game play works pretty well once you get past deck creation. We're punting it to a more hardcore gaming group to try it out and see if the audience is more there than the casual one we started with. New Card Game 2: This is probably the best game we've ever made. From art to game play to fun factor. We are very pleased with this one. What's more there is little change to game after playtesting it. In fact, we ended coming up with at least 2 variations on the game that spawned out of great ideas. Really looking forward to this one. New Card Game 3: Man, we have a lot of card games for 2014. This one is so chess-like to us. It plays well, but you can see the end after a well-executed strategy. We'll be doing more playtesting on this soon. That's a lot of games. It has been fun. We can't wait for 2014. -Aaron from A'n'SR
